NEW // EAMES OF MY DREAMS.

one of the things on my bucket list (that is mostly filled with things i want to experience, i think this was the only materialistic thing on it) was to own an eames chair & i took the plunge and bought a RAR rocker when a local store had 15% off vitra (you wouldn't think so but it makes a hefty difference on the price)
i am in love with it. it's so comfortable & i love how calm and relaxing it is to just sit and rock for ten minutes. it's definitely been a worthwile investment.

twenty five // trip to the seaside for assignment images. it was so windy i could lean into the wind and it held me up, my hat blew off my head & my mascara ran off with the water streaming from my eyes, hawt.
twenty six // my mum is so beautiful.
twenty seven // books, books, books. my house felt so empty & bare without my books. i still have so many at my parent's, but i have most (including my HP series) of my favourites with me. yay!
twenty eight // i finally saw city & colour after years of just missing him and dang it was amazing. dallas green is something else.
twenty nine // managed to hand my assignment in on time without stressing/getting anxious/panicking for the first time. it's progress.
thirty // constantly changing what's on my shelf & how it's arranged. i don't think i'll ever be happy.
thirty one // i've either forgotten how to take a decent photograph, my camera hates me, or it's so outdated it's refusing to take a picture in focus. i'm hoping it's option three.
happy february, everyone!

my latest assignment was 'A-Z of Me' - which i'm still cringing at. i had to create twenty six images, for each letter of the alphabet, relating to me.
although i have not enjoyed the name of the assignment, i have throughly enjoyed the amount of freedom i've had with it. as long as the image correlates to a letter, i can photograph whatever i like.
i decided that i didn't want to share the description i wrote for each letter with the audience, wanting them to distinguish their own meaning as i love art like this.

on a completely different note, i made a tumblr specifically for my photography. i prefer it so much more than flickr & viewbug, i've never really got into either of those. it would be lovely if you followed/reblogged/liked it if you enjoy my "work". it'd be great to be able to ~make it~ in an artistic job, i'm never going to be someone with a "normal" job.
write it out.

one thing i really want to do this year is keep a journal. a physical, hand scrawled journal. raw and ugly and honest. full of what goes through my head in an attempt to get it out in some way rather than having it swirl around it there with no way of getting out.
over the past few years i have noticed how i've closed into myself and have stopped speaking about things that i'm thinking about, views i have, and i find it incredibly hard to talk to people without feeling stupid & worthless.
it means that i'll have a light hearted conversation with someone i've known for a couple of weeks - i can't guarantee you'll get anything out of me when i first meet people - but if you want to have a deep conversation and know what's going on in my head, you're going to have to knock down a few walls. walls i haven't put up, walls i wish i could break down myself, but the walls are there nonetheless.
i don't want to aim for how often i write in my journal. i want it to be free, not forced, i want it to be honest, i want to be able to read it in a few years time and be shocked at how much i've changed.
well, little white moleskine. let's do this.

i was going to use this image as my 'ten' for the 365 project, but i just love it so much. it may not be the best photograph i've ever taken, but it's definitely the best photograph i've ever edited and dare i say it, it's my personal favourite.
i hate to boast and never feel worthy to appreciate/like my own work but i'm just so proud as to how this turned out. i'm trying to focus on the fact that my photography should be what i love and what i'm passionate about, opposed to what others think about my work, but it's hard when people don't always get it & think your work is 'boring' or 'nothing is happening'.
i might say i am falling in love with photoshop and definitely see a purchase in the future (which may even result in a vsco purchase too!!!)
be proud of what you create. don't be afraid to say 'i love how this turned out and i'm proud i was able to do it' because someone will appreciate it. maybe not in this year, or this century, maybe it won't be anyone in your family or friendship group, but someone will, and even if you never know, at least it was appreciated by you.

first of all, happy new year! i find it crazy that it's 2014; i'm going to be twenty this year!
just before christmas, i took a few photographs of the house before we did anything to it. this was handover day. it was a bit of a standstill over christmas, but we got an alarm fitted and finally have started laying the flooring - i forced my parents to go to ikea in manchester to get the floor as it was taking too long to come into our local store.
once christmas week was over, i just wanted to get in & make it home, but of course the floor has to be down. i bought some fabric to hang up at the front window until the blinds have been made.
next week i'll share what i've bought/what's on my wishlist for the living room.
let's do this, twenty fourteen!!
